With the Arabian Sea on the west and networked by forty-four rivers, Kerala lies on the southern tip of the Indian peninsula. Kerala is the exact place to visit when it comes to a tour in South India. Kerala is well known for the mountains, backwaters, and lakes that the state has. The state of Kerala has lots of national parks and wildlife sanctuaries. Sanctuaries are places where sacred objects are kept. Kerala's backwater system is especially marvellous. It has the length of 1500 kilometers (WOW) and crosses over 38 rivers and 5 lakes.
Tourism in the backwater areas are very common because of the "Backwater life-styles are fostered by the local people. There, you can experience the life-style literaly on traditional Kerala houseboats! You aren't looking at pictures, but you are actually on the boat drifting through the incredibly long Backwater system of Kerala. In Kerala, there are national parks and wildlife sanctuaries EVERYWHERE YOU GO. Well, almost. One of the examples are Wynad Wildlife Sanctuary (WWS). The WWS is part of the Wynad Plateau, and also a part of Wynad National Park which is famous for its leopards, tigers, and all other wild animal.

Boat Racing
The festivals in Kerala are very colorful and delightful to see. For example, the boat racing (picture shown at the side). Every year the backwater areas are packed with audience that are cheering and booing, the people that are actually in the competition, etc. It is an amazing sight where you can just see all kinds of boats in different shapes and colors. Snake-kind boats, Dragon-looking boats, YOU NAME IT! All people try their best every year to accomplish the boat competition, making sure that they have a boat that can withstand speed, the strength of the water, etc. They made sure that their boat was the best, and they were enjoying the competition
