Section 1. Brief History/ Introduction
Hinduism (Sanatana Dharma) is a major religion in India subcontinent, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka. Hinduism might have begginings in Indus River Valley. The word Hindu is the Persian name for the Indus river. Unlike most religions Hinduism has no single founder. Hinduism is composed as eternal principals, have no beginning and will have no end. Hinduism is not a single religion, it embraces many traditions. Early Hinduism is before historical period, there are two evidences: Literary, and archaeological. The earliest literature is made from Vedas. The earliest part of Vedas might date back to 2500 BCE- 2000BCE.
The earliest part of Hinduism is made up of Vedas. There was a theory, around 1500 BCE - 500BCE the Aryans migrated to the Indus valley became a major cultural impact; then Hinduism was developed from it.
Archaeology: Many figurines of female deities were discovered. Deities are sacred immortal being, they can be in many forms.These "mother Goddess" figurines are mostly worshiped at home instead of some major temple. Figures of male deities with large horns are also been uncovered. He is commonly surrounded by cattle. He is known as Pashupati, the protector of Animals.
The idea of law of Hinduism are Dharma Sutras and Shastras . The main things of Dharma are revelation, traditions, and good customs.
Shramana, a none vedic movement gave birth of Jainisim, yoga, and the idea of the cycle of life and death.
During Gupta empire Hinduism have a great impact not only at the India also many Asian countries.
During around the 7th century the Islam came to India. Many Buddhism are declined, and Hindus are forced to convert to Islam. Many Muslim armies destroyed Hindu temples. But during Akbar's rule time, he aloud religious freedom.
At the time of Shankara's life Hinduism wasn't as strong. Because of the influences of Jainism and Buddhism. He traveled to restore the importance of Vedas. He had several debates with Buddhism scholars.

Here are some words from travelers so you won't panic when you're traveling. Hinduism have a lot of Gods, unlike Christianity. None of the Hinduism Gods look very similar to the local people.( Still unlike Christianity, which Jesus looks like normal human.) The Hindu Gods are either blue or white-skinned. Which the locals are not.
