The Fatehpur (>")> Sikri
History of Fatehpur Sikri
Once upon a time, there was an empire, the greatest empire of them all. The Mughal Empire. They had accomplished much, but, in 1556, a mere boy ascended to the throne. He was 14. The reason of his sudden "claim" to the throne, was because of his father's (Humayan) sudden death. His name, was Akbar. Akbar built a magnificent Imperial empire at his capital at Agra, as soon as he secured his power. As an instant result, he created, Agra Fort. It was his royal residence and served as a great military asset.
Over time, Akbar decided to shift his capital to somewhere nearby. There are a lot of different hypothesis on why Akbar moved, and one of them was that he often visited a hamlet, and was told (after having 3 sons) to built a new city. The Fatehpur Sikri. From the place he built this city, it was easy to control all parts of the country and move anywhere without any trouble. The new city was built on a hilltop so it was safe from future invaders. This new city was built on a ridge and grew into a blooming city, bigger then current times London. Akbar did not stay in this city for long, the reasons are as diverse as the reasons of building this city. One of the reasons might have been that the city's water supply was not enough to support the city's population.

Climate and Culture Shock
The climate of the area Fatehpur Sikri is, hot. Which is why, you'll need a lot of light clothes, like T-shirts, shorts, those kinds of things. If you want to go to Fatehpur Sikri, then I suggest, do not go in May, unless you want to get a really big tan and lots of sunburns. I suggest, if you want to enjoy the weather, go in January or December, because at that time, the temperature is the lowest, a 22degrees Celsius and a 24degrees Celsius. The 22 is in January, the 24 is in December. If you go to the Fatehpur Sikri city, you'll be shocked to find out that it is near abandoned. The reason, as mentioned above, is that the water supply was not enough to support the population, so the city got evacuated. One thing you will have to worry about is stealing. Since there are not a lot of people there, some fake "guides" will come to "offer" help, then when you're sleeping, he/she will steal something of yours.
