Delhi is the second largest metropolis in India by population. The current capitol of India. There are three parts to this city : Old Delhi, New Delhi, and the Delhi Cantonment.
History
Human habitation was probably present in and around Delhi during 2000 BC and before. In 1206 Qutb-ud-din Aybak, the first emperor of the Turkic Slave Dynasty established the Delhi Sultanate. After the slave dynasty fall a few other dyasties succeeded it, the Turkic dynasty, the Khilji dynasty, the Tughluq dynasty, the Sayyid dynasty, and the Lodhi dynasty. In 1398 Timur Lenk invaded India. Timur entered Delhi and left it in ruins after destroying it. Timur massacred 100,000 people captives near Delhi. In 1526 Zahiruddin Babur, a decendent Timur and Genghis Khan, invaded India defeated the last Lodhi sultan and founded the Mughal Empire.The Mughal Empire ruled for three centuries. After 1680 the Mughal Empire Fall as the Hindu Maratha Empire gain more power. In 1737 the Maratha defeated the Mughal Empire. The weakened Mughal Empire lost may other battles after that. Then after the Indian Rebellion in 1857, Delhi was directly controlled by the British.

The lowest average temperature recorded was in January. The highest was in June. So prepre a jacket if your going to Dehli in winter, and light cloth if going in summer. The total average rainfall of the year is 797.3mm (31.39 inches), so if you are going there don't forget to bring a umbrella, or maybe buy one there. In India about 60% of the people there ride buses. There are also many places where you would get scam. So be careful and watch out for those things. There can also be a lot of traffic in Dehli.
