History
In 1569, the city Fatehpur Sikri was founded by the Mughal emperor, Akbar. In the village of Sikri. Later, Akbar visited a Sufi saint named Shaikh Salim Chishti he predicated Akbar that he is going to have three sons. The first prince Salim was born in Sikri in 1569 and he is named after Shaikh Salim Chirshiti . When Prince Salim was two years old, Akbar went back to Sikri and started to build a historic town known as Fatehabad, which he renamed Fatehpur Sikri --- " The City of Victory " and made it the capital of Mughal Empire in 1585. However, this towns live is short. After fifteen years, the lake which was the natural source of water for this city, fell short for providing large amount of people in this region. Later, the city was being abandoned and this city's life ended.
Traveler's Description
The climate in Fatehpur Sikri is warm, not a lot of rain, mainly it is sunny. So, going to this place you don't need to wear a lot. Because of the big sun shine, you probably have to bring a umbrella to protect you from sun burn or bring a sun block.
This is one of the famous tourist attraction in Uttar Pradesh and this city is always surrounded by people all around the world, so be careful of the people, they might push you or steal you things. This is a good place for visiting, if you have time traveling to India remember to come this place.
Buland Darwaza
This is a place you can go when you go to Fatehpur Sikri. It is one of the largest gate in the world.
This gigantic gate was build because of Akbar's victory in the battle in 1573. This gate is also known as the Gate of
Magnificence.

If you went to Fatehpur Sikri you can also go to Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal was build by a Mughal empire named Shan Jahan. In 1612, he married a woman named Arjumand Bano (his 3rd wife) who soon became known as Mumtaz Mahal. Unfortunately, she died while giving the birth to the 14th child of their family. Taj Mahal was a building memorizing Mumtaz.
