Even India have a lot of food in the storage still there were a lot of people who was starving because they didn't really distributed the food well. This period also saw a steadily decline in public investment in irrigation and infrastructure essential for agricultural progress as well as a gradual collapse of the cooperative trusting system.
2001 to the present day
The agricultural decline is happening at a time when international prices of major food grains are going up steeply. The land that the people have will use it as the grain for ethanol and for food versus fuel is becoming a major issue.
